The suction catheter is a flexible, long tube used to remove respiratory secretions from the airway. The purpose of suctioning is to keep the airway clear of secretions and to prevent plugging.
Directions:
- Peel off the package, and take out the catheter.
- Insert the patient end of the tube into the trachea.
- Connect the connector with the suction device.
- Adjust the pressure and move the respiration.
- Control the suction pressure by pressing the vacuum hole (if any).
